ORP Member Information
ORP Tier | Age for Retirement | Hour Restrictions |
---|---|---|
Tiers 1-4 | Age 55 (though vested funds are available upon separation) | ORP retirees should work under 600 hours in a calendar year in retirement, otherwise, they may become active members again and cannot access retirement benefits while receiving contributions. |
ORP members considering tenure relinquishment should also review the ORP Administration of Faculty Tenure Relinquishment Agreements 2025. Per the ORP Plan Document, faculty going through tenure relinquishment are considered retired at the end of their appointment.
Faculty members can check to see what retirement program and tier they are in by reviewing their payslips in Workday. The SOU CISR website has guides for employees to follow to navigate Workday.
